The MQ135 is a sensor capable of detecting common air pollutants, including smoke, alcohol, CO2, and benzene (from vehicle smoke, paint, etc.).

This is commonly used in air quality systems, or projects that detect and measure pollutants in the air. Also, this is a simple to use sensor, with output voltage increasing as pollutants increase. You can also adjust sensitivity using the sensor’s potentiometer.

MQ135 Sensor Specifications:

  • Voltage: 5v recommended
  • Can detect smoke, alcohol, perfumes, benzene (C6H6), Carbon dioxide (CO2), ammonia (NH3), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), and other pollutants.
  • Make sure to preheat your sensor before taking measurements. For first use, or if stored for a long time, burn-in the sensor to ensure accuracy.
